Check out our newest employee spotlight for Ally Brown:

Manufacturing Engineer, Employee at OMT-Veyhl since November 2025

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

In my career, so far, I’m most proud of jumping back into manufacturing after doing a year of mission work. My year of mission was incredibly rewarding and challenging, but I am so glad to bring the skills I learned in that experience to my engineering career- it has really allowed for better communication and looking at the bigger picture, which is helpful when trying to solve problems!

What is your favorite thing about working at OMT-Veyhl?

My favorite things about working at OMT-Veyhl are the fantastic team members and the constant learning. Every day holds something a little different and allows me to work on interesting solutions with people who are willing to help to get the job done well (not to mention, usually with a laugh or some sage advice included).

What does it mean to you to help the company?

Making improvements, even miniscule ones, each day and connecting with the team at OMT-Veyhl is what helping the company means to me. One of my favorite quotes is “Always forward, never back,” and that resonates deeply with what we’re working on at OMT. I am so grateful to have a part to play with great people making great products.

What is your favorite hobby to do outside of work?

My favorite hobby outside of work is music! I’m a big proponent of picking up a hobby for a specific craft/gift/function, but music has been a lasting part of my life. Singing and playing guitar/saxophone/trombone are my go-tos!

What is your favorite food? Home cooked or from a specific restaurant?

One of my favorite things to do is to try new restaurants, but I think I make a mean dish of carbonara at home with the right ingredients (guanciale, Pecorino Romano cheese, Italian music playing- go big or go to Rome?).

What TV show would you want to be in?

There are some days where I am a bit of a Jessica Day or Leslie Knope type of gal (New Girl or Parks and Recreation), so I think I could slide into either of those shows and have a fun time.

What is your dream vacation? What would you like to do there?

Dream vacation… oh man, the list is long of where I’d like to go, but Greece is near the top. I would love to see the beautiful towns along the water but also go where St. Paul traveled (Athens, Corinth, and Thessaloniki)!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A big Animal Planet fan here, so I really wanted to be a veterinarian growing up but then switched to genetic counselor before engineering caught my academic interests

What is something else about you that people at work might not know about you?

My main fun fact is that I have five world championship titles in horse showing. That’s a hobby/saddle I’d love to get back into someday!
